Claire has fourteen years of experience in local and regional planning, with particular emphasis on long-range planning. She currently serves as comprehensive planning manager for the city of Suffolk, where she is also responsible for housing and redevelopment programs. She previously served as director of community development and zoning administrator for the town of West Point and as a regional planner for both the Hampton Roads and Middle Peninsula Planning District Commissions. Claire currently serves as secretary on the APA Virginia board and previously served as the chapter's newsletter editor.

As Secretary, Claire records meeting minutes, manages work plan progress and organizes production of the newsbrief.

She holds a Master of Urban and Environmental Planning degree from the University of Virginia.
