Public Finance and Budgeting

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

If planning is the vechicle in which a community travels towards its future, then a budget is the engine in that vehicle. Attendees to this session will gain insights into the revenue and expenditures of local government. We'll discuss the intersections between public finance and budgeting and show how planners can use each to promote desirable effects and avoid undesirable ones in your community.

The Hands-On Leadership Development opportunity consists of a series of four (4) concurrent sessions. Each session is designed to provide an advanced learning opportunity to planning commissioners and emerging planning professionals alike. The sessions will cover skills related to enhancing attendees capacity as a community leader. Attend these sessions and you'll better understand public finance and budgeting, contracting and procurement, project management, and team-building for effective governance. Attend all sessions and receive a certificate of completion; useful for demonstrating your commitment to excellence in governance and planning administration.
