Abbey Ness is an analyst with Marstel-Day, a conservation and military planning firm. In this capacity, she analyzes land use-based solutions to encroachment challenges affecting Navy and Air Force installations. As the co-chair of the Young Planners Group, she organizes professional development and networking opportunities for young professionals across Virginia. Abbey received her master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from University of Virginia, and her bachelor of arts in environmental science and policy from Duke University. Abbey is particularly interested in the relationships between the built environment, sustainable land uses, public health, and social capacity.
